In the Choco region of Colombia, an incredibly verdant and biodiverse rainforest environment, Cred Jewellery sources much of its Fair Trade Gold. Part of the responsibility and benefit of being Fair Trade is supporting miners, their families, and their communities.
One of our partners, Amichoco (part of the The Green Gold Corporation) facilitates community education programmes for their mining communities. As well as running the Reforestation programme and the Livelihoods programme, they support these programmes by ongoing informal education: nutrition, work techniques, parenting, business and enterprise training, environmental care.
This vital component ensures that other programmes are delivered successfully and sustainably.
